  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi there! I'm Kelly Ferguson, and this is the cyberspot to visit to see my latest work :) I'm blessed, beyond my most ambitious dreams, to be able to do something that I have loved doing since I got my first camera at the age of 5.

I look at pictures, and I feel a wave of emotions. They are our visual link to the emotions and feelings of the past, and to me, they are priceless.

I shared my love of photoging with my Mom. She was my biggest supporter in pursuing this venture. I know she is looking down on me with joy and happiness for the success I have achieved so far. I wish she was here to share in this dream with me.

I also couldn't do this without my awesome Husband's support. He came home 2 years ago with a variety of equipment to start my business, and told me I no longer had an excuse to not pursue my dreams. I signed-up for classes that week, and after 9 months, started Kelly Ferguson Photography, LLC :):):)

I haven't stopped since, and I've never been happier "working" in my life :)

THANKS TO ALL MY AMAZING CUSTOMERS AND FAMILY FOR MAKING THIS MY WONDERFUL REALITY!

    BIG GIANT HUGS, ~KELLY

Meet Giovanna :)

Giovanna has arrived!

She is positively adorable and beautiful , and she was a dream to shoot.   Quiet and sweet, very much like what I would envision a tiny little cherub to be like.  With outside being officially winter, we stuck to the peaceful surroundings of her home, and I had one enjoyable afternoon with her and her family.

Her parents are positively in-love with her, and her big brother will no doubt be very glad to have her to play with one day.

Here she is, making her family officially a family of 4 . . .

I know he will be so happy one day to have her as a playmate.
Here’s their first portrait as a family of 4:):):):)

I forgot to mention that Grandma was visiting from Brazil, and would be helping out for a couple of months!

Dear Giovanna & Family,

What a joy this occasion was to shoot.

There is nothing quite like seeing a family react

to their newest member, and you gave me that honor

and privilege.  Thank you for choosing me to capture this

time for you, it was awesome!

Hugs,

Kelly

Dawnie’s Fabulous 40th In Playa Mujeres – :):):)infinitely:):):)

I’ve been waiting for the perfect day to break these out, go through them, and select which ones would be the most fitting recap for my blog.

It is snowy and cold, and it is exactly what I was waiting for to detach myself from the fact that it is still winter.  I won’t be having a tropical break from that reality any time soon, so I’m using my December tropical respite and celebratory milestone to deter my attention from winter.  And as I did pour through these, I once again, had laughs coming from way down deep.  This trip was filled with a solid weekend of, very simply put, fun and happy times.  As much as I would like to share all 500+ of them, suffice to say that a group of people in their late 30s to early 40s getting together for a weekend of celebration, without their children, makes for far too many laughs to possibly cover in a blog:) A book would be more fitting, but we all know that if I can’t keep up with blogging, a book is pretty much out of the question!

Anyhow, this was our 3rd trip celebrating a 40th with this group, and this time around it was for Delta Dawn.  Her Hubby Craig and BFF Deborah pulled out all the stops, spared no expense or thought to detail, and made this weekend soiree one that will forever be burned into the mind’s “Best of Times” memory portfolio.  Truly happy flashbacks and unforgettable moments would be used to summarize Dawnie’s weekend.

Happy 40th Delta Dawn . . .

Let’s begin with a few of the incredible views from Dawn & Craig’s oceanside suite.

Not a bad place for a 40th Birthday Celebration, huh?!?!

At our arrival dinner, Dawn had people meeting up from all over, and by that I mean Tokyo, Vegas, LA, DC, Jersey, and, of course The Lou.Dawn’s Brother surprised her and showed up unannounced, after saying all along that he wouldn’t be able to make it!

See what I mean by those laughs:)

After dinner we headed to the hotel show of the evening, and were all blown-away by the talent of the Michael Jackson show.   It was honestly amazing. and then

I see, out of the corner of my eye, our birthday girl creating her own Michael Jackson show . . .and then Thriller comes on, and our little crowd decides to start doing their own version.

You can’t imagine how many of these I had to dump due to my camera shake from laughing so hard. lolNext we headed to the hotel disco, and decided we still needed to kick it up a bit.

Day #2 consists of hanging at the pool during the day, and Dawn’s Big Party that evening.

We also received our party favors:)

Yes, you might have noticed I have a black lip.  How wonderful was it to bend over to pick up a toy in the pitch dark,

1 minute before walking out the door to leave for the airport, and jack myself with a child’s chair back. NICE!!!!

Me & Dawnie:)

Friday Evening:  The Big Party

Birthday Girl in her Birthday GlamSo a funny story about this cake.  It probably looks a wee-bit simple and rather plain for a 40th, doesn’t it?  Well about 30 minutes before we were all heading to the

restaurant for the party, Craig gets a call from the baker saying they had just dropped her cake and it was destroyed.  So this would be what you come up with when you

only have 30 minutes to do a 40th birthday cake.  Good thing Deb and Craig brought the candles and the birthday confetti!!!

The Toasts

So the bar dancing did not end so well.  It kind of ended in bruises and flying beverages.

However, for everyone not involved in the aftermath, it was priceless.

And I missed it because I was going through pics on my camera!!! Go figure . . .

Nice faux blond in the background;)Once again, Craig coming through with those details that stay in the mind forever . . .If you can’t tell by these, Dawn enjoys some karaoke.

Day #3

We started a tradition with year #1 of having a Disco Party.  It has continued to grow in detail every year.

Year #1 it was just everyone getting dressed up and partying poolside in Cancun for Deborah’s 40th.

Year #2 began with a parade through Mandalay Bay in Vegas to the pool for Craig’s 40th, no music, but we definitely had heads turning in the casino.

And this year, we took it up a notch and had Dawn lead her entourage to the Beachside Deck (that Craig had rented).

The entire trek to the pavillion, everyone strutted to “Workin’ At The Carwash”, you know that catchy tune from the disco era.

Again I had to dump a ton of shots from laughing so hard, oh and shooting while walking backwards  . . . LOLDawn waving to the onlookers, and the onlookers:)So this was supposed to be a pyramid, but it turned into more of a trapezoid. LOL

Dear Dawnie & Craig,

Jeez, these were so damn fun to go through again.

How cherish these good times and awesome memories with you two,

and I am so happy that even though we are through the 40th parties

we have vowed to keep this going once a year.

Can’t wait to see you in Palm Springs for the wedding.

I so look forward to the memories that will be made from that trip too;)

Gushy Hugs,

Kel

Hayden’s Little Brother Hudson Arrived :):)

I was super happy to get the text from Hayden’s Daddy saying that they had welcomed little Hudson, and wanted to set-up a shoot.  It’s always fun to see my old college neighbor in his familial element, and the addition of his second son added a new dimension to his element.  The change in him in the past year and a half has been astounding!!!

Although you won’t see Mommy and Daddy in these (they didn’t want to be in any shots), there are plenty of their adorable boys.  I know, you want to see the parents, and you should, because they are gorgeous.   I am the same, I can’t wait for shots of the 4 of them. Well, they have assured me that in one of these sessions we will get some family shots, but until then, enjoy these two little charmers.

I got these shots of Hayden while we were waiting for Hudson’s tummy to be filled back up:)Yes, he is another little charmer!I wonder if Hayden was thinking of him as a new pet in this? lol

Aren’t these an absolute treat?!?!?  Two of the many little faces Hayden has in his arsenal!Dear Lees,

This was such a treat!

Those baby boys are so adorable, and I so look

forward to seeing them grow into little boys.

I have a feeling that Chris is going to be paid back

a bit for what he put his parents through!!!

Sorry Rebecca, I hope, for your sake that

Karma will be more on your side:)

Hugs,

Kelly

Meet The Flynns :):):):)

So last year the Flynns were my final shoot of what I call the “Holiday Card Families”.  These families like updated photos for the annual holiday card, much like myself, and I didn’t blog them last year.  I didn’t blog them because I felt, at the time, that it was past Christmas and so it didn’t fit.

Well, this year that has changed.  Once again the Flynns were my final “Holiday Card Family”, and once again, with so much biz (thank you awesome customers!), I am behind on blogging.  Yes, I know you are shocked.   However, I LOVE this family for their lively personalities, they remind me of my own household’s indescribable vitality, and I couldn’t pass them up just because we are past Christmas.

I look back on these and just laugh.  Lisa is very much like myself, she gets flustered by those little guys of hers, just like I do with my monsters.  And, her little live-wires, and their energy that cannot be measured by any energy measuring scale that is currently in existence, are EXACTLY like my own.  I take great comfort in knowing there are other parents out there that go through what Chris & I experience on a daily basis:)

Here are The Flynns, with no evidence of any of what I described, maybe, lol . . .

Dear Flynns,

Thank you sooo much for bestowing this annual honor on me!

The laughs are priceless, and make me smile for days.

I will be looking forward to our 2012 meeting, and can’t

wait to see how much those boys have changed and energized

throughout another year!

Big Hugs,

Kelly

Kim’s Family + 2 :):)

I often get the pleasure of multiple shoots, in a given year with a family, and this was one that I would classify as a BIG BONUS.  I have shot Kim, Christian and Jim a couple of times in the last 6 months, and you know from my previous blog gushing that I pretty much adore the three of them.  So Kim’s parents and her sister’s family were in for a holiday visit, and lucky for me, I got the honor of capturing the group for the first time with the two newest members of the family.

If you are wondering, yes, Kim’s family is just as sweet and delightful as she is.  It was very apparent where she got that wonderful personality and disposition.

They chose Longview Park, and we lucked-out with late Fall temperatures moderating a bit, and two happy little guys that made this even more enjoyable.

Side note:  This also made me realize that I need to do this with my own family.  We haven’t had a big family shoot done in quite a while, and it will be a priority for 2012.

Here’s Kim with her family . . .

Dear Kim & Family,

Thanks for being your wonderful selves.

Bigger group shoots are exactly known for being favorites of

photographers, and you quickly put that to rest.

It was a pleasure meeting you all, and a treat to see you

all being a family together.  You are all very blessed to have

each other, but you already know that;)

Hugs,

Kelly
